Time Use Technical Workshop
During the days 23, 24 and 25 of March there will be a Time Use Technical Workshop to prepare for the 1st Time Use Survey. This workshop is sponsored by the National Statistics Institute (INE) and the Cape Verdean Institute for Gender Equality and Equity (ICIEG), in collaboration with the UN Women, the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.
According to prosecutors, this workshop is configured as a learning space on the one hand, and as a reflection/planning on the other, having as main goals to familiarize the participants with the theoretical and methodological framework of this kind of research, highlighting its interface with public policies, as well as the elaboration of the reference framework for the realization of the 1st Time Use Survey.
According to the President of the NSA - Cape Verde, the completion of the first time use survey of cape verdeans, will allow better understand how and how much the cape verdean their time in household chores, political, social, cultural activities and other, in order to provide a range of information that can serve as a basis for policy making.
The work will be supervised by a team of facilitators from the University of Uruguay and the National Institute of Statistics from that country in collaboration with the National Institute of Statistics of Cape Verde and ICIEG.
