UNDP and UNODC launch international campaign called "Act against Corruption"
United Nations, Praia, December 2, 2011- The UN Assembly designated December 9 the International Anti-Corruption Day. Every year, it represents an opportunity to sensitize people all over the world about the effects of that crime and how to combat it. Besides, there are efforts to stamp out corruption with the United Nations support.
UNDP and UNODC joined, in a global campaign against corruption, to declare December 9, the International Anti-Corruption Day. These two usually arrange events and activities alluding to that date, counting on the local media engagement and informing society about it.
This international campaign,” Act against Corruption”, focuses on how that crime obstacles efforts for fulfillment of the Millennium Development Goals.
